When I started studying again I thought it would be a good way to gain some new skills and expand my mind. I never thought it would become a way of life for me. I now see weeds all the time and sigh because I cant kill them all.
I joined up the with the local land care group and soon found that all I had learnt was easy to put into practise. I then organised another group and called it the splinter land care group.
Before I stared studying I had lost everything and felt my life was going to be a struggle through the hum drum until the end. But now I’m excited that I know so much more about the environment and that I am still learning everyday. I feel that I’m a new person with a great outlook.
I may not be able to stop all the invasive species in NSW but you have to start somewhere, every weed you kill is one less to produce seeds.
Becoming someone new is very exciting.
