Statement of Attainment in bridging units for Master <500GT (Naval Officers) is suitable for Naval Officers who hold a Bridge Warfare Certificate.
This course is currently cited as meeting some of the requirements for certification as a Master <500 GT as described in Marine Order 70 and 71 (2014) under the Navigation Act 2012 by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

TAFE Digital deliver the Master less than 500 GT Diploma course in 3 x face to face blocks of tuition in Sydney over 12 - 13 weeks. RAN Bridge Warfare Cerificate holders are required to complete 6 units only (plus additional short courses not included in your TAFE Digital enrolment) and will therefore enrol into a skill- set containing these 6 units. On completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment and a certificate required by AMSA. If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, the Institute reserves the right to transition you into an alternate course. This course is suitable for Naval Officers who hold a Bridge Warfare Certificate.

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

The 6 units you are required to complete are delivered within the Diploma of Maritime Operations (Master up to 500 GT) course. You are required to study and complete several assignments before attending face to face classes in Strathfield. A course schedule is available by contacting the Maritime Section on 02 9715 8476.

MARA010 Manage loading, unloading and stowage of cargo
MARD001 Manage business and administration on vessels limited by tonnage or near coastal operations
MARD002 Manage operations and maintenance on vessels limited by tonnage or near coastal operations
MARH007 Apply command navigation procedures on vessels limited by tonnage or near coastal operations
MARJ004 Inspect and report defects and damage to vessel
MARA005 Maintain vessel stability

For Credit transfer where you have completed previous studies either with TAFE NSW or with another tertiary provider complete the Enrolment Adjustment - Credit - Previous Studies form, and include any required evidence.

For Recognition of Prior Learning, attach your evidence to a completed Enrolment Adjustment – Credit – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form and submit for assessment.

Upon enrolment you will receive selected hardcopy 'Maritime learning Resources'. The Online Learning Support site (OLS) is accessible after enrolment where all assignments can be downloaded along with a range of learning resources.
A Statement of Attainment is issued on successful completion of the 6 units that comprise this skill-set. An additional certificate, required by AMSA, is also issued on completion. TAFE Digital deliver the 'Medical care onboard ship' short course which is required to attain your Master under 500 GT endorsement- request the dates/ fees if required. Additional AMSA approved short courses are required check AMSA for details.

Course cost: $3,130

There are no subsidies for this course, it is offered for enrolment under a fee-for-service. There are no concessions, exemptions or scholarships available. Payment by instalments is available.
