This course is for people wanting to work in the building and construction
industry. You will acquire the skills and knowledge required to work as a
construction estimator/scheduler for low rise buildings.

Students may need to visit construction sites as part of their learning. Students who undertake such visits may be required to have completed a course in OH&S General Induction for Construction Work in NSW (CPCCOHS1001A) White Card.

To apply for recognition in one or more units you must clearly show that you have the equivalent and relevant skills, knowledge and experience of the unit or group of units.

For Credit transfer where you have completed previous studies either with TAFE NSW or with another tertiary provider complete the Enrolment Adjustment - Credit - Previous Studies form, and include any required evidence.

For Recognition of Prior Learning, attach your evidence to a completed Enrolment Adjustment – Credit – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form and submit for assessment.

You will need to purchase additional equipment/ reference books/ consumables for some units. Access to the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and several Australian Standards will also be required.
You will need a computer, or regular access to an IBM compatible computer with:
• Windows 2003 or later
• Microsoft Office 2003 or later.
• Access to the internet will be required to obtain resource material for several units, to access the OLS site and to contact teachers. It is recommended that you have MS Internet Explorer V6.0 or later and 128 MB of RAM.

OTEN will provide learning materials in this qualification in the form of printed lesson notes or online learning material.

Course cost: $8,940

There are no subsidies for this course, it is offered for enrolment under a fee-for-service. There are no concessions, exemptions or scholarships available. Payment by instalments is available.
