Would you like to further your career in the construction industry? The Diploma of Building and Construction will put you on the pathway for employment as a site manager or project This qualification is designed to meet the needs of builders, including selecting contractors, overseeing the work and its quality, and liaising with clients.

The builder may also be the appropriately licensed person with responsibility under the relevant building licensing authority in the State or Territory. Builder licensing varies across States and Territories and additional requirements to attainment of this qualification may be required.

The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry.

The construction industry strongly affirms that training and assessment leading to recognition of skills must be undertaken in a real or very closely simulated workplace environment and this qualification requires all included units of competency to be delivered in this context.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.

Additional units of competency may be required to meet builder registration requirements in various States and Territories.

Although there are no formal educational entry requirements for this course, TAFE Digital recommends that;
- You must be able to study and work independently.
- You have high level of language skills; letter and report writing, as well as research skills.
- You have maths skills and the ability to calculate and solve maths equations.
- You have reliable internet access.

Computer skills are vital for the successful completion of this course.

Note: WA students need to complete the following elective units to meet the course package requirements : CPCSUS5001A, CPCCBC4018A and CPCCBC4014A.
For licensing requirements, students will also need to complete CPCCBC4005A separately. Please contact TAFE Digital prior to course registration for further information.

This training is subsidised by the NSW government under Smart and Skilled. The student fee you will need to pay, will be determined according to your personal circumstances and eligibility for a subsidised place, you may also be eligible for a concession fee, fee exemption or fee free scholarship. Payment by instalments is available.

You may continue with an enrolment into this course if you are not eligible for subsidised training, however the full training fee will be applicable. There are conditions to enrolment if you are a Temporary Visa Holder. To discuss your visa status and eligibility to enrol please phone 131 241.

This course is approved for a Commonwealth VET Student Loan. If you meet the eligibility requirements, you are able to apply to the Commonwealth for a loan to cover all or part of your course fee. We will ask you whether you would like to apply for a VET Student Loan when you enrol and advise you of the process.
