This course provides the knowledge and skills to prepare for, monitor and
conduct fumigation operations and complete the necessary records.


Student Suitability

The practical component of course will be delivered over three days in September 2019 (Dates TBC) at TAFE NSW Wetheriill Park. Confirmation of dates and additional details will be provided by teachers prior to delivery.
To complete assessment tasks you will need also need to complete three Fumigation treatments under the guidance of a licenced Fumigator. Will also need to complete a case studies of those treatments.
- If you currently hold competency unit 'CPPPMT3006 – Manage pests by applying pesticides' then you will be able to get recognition for this unit and you may not need to attend day 1 of training.
- Workplace assessment tasks will need to be completed under supervision of a licenced Fumigator and is the the students reponsibility to arrange this.
- If you hold a current units AHCCHM303 Prepare and apply chemicals & AHCCHM304 Transport and Handle chemicals (Otherwise know as Chemical Applications) you may not need to attend day 1 of training.

If during or after your enrolment, the course in which you are enrolled is updated in line with national industry standards, the Institute reserves the right to transition you into an alternate course. If this becomes necessary, the Institute will advise you of the change and the arrangements which will be available for you to complete your alternate course.

There are no entry requirements for this course.

Credit (or recognition) for modules/units may be granted based on previous learning, studies, work and/or life experiences. Please discuss this with the teaching section when you enrol.

To apply for recognition in one or more units you must clearly show that you have the equivalent and relevant skills, knowledge and experience of the unit or group of units.

For Credit transfer where you have completed previous studies either with TAFE NSW or with another tertiary provider complete the Enrolment Adjustment - Credit - Previous Studies form, and include any required evidence.

For Recognition of Prior Learning, attach your evidence to a completed Enrolment Adjustment – Credit – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form and submit for assessment.
