TAFE NSW is offering the Childcare Community an opportunity to update their credentials and remain compliant with legislative and policy frameworks. This short course will give you the unit that you need to remain compliant with legislative and policy frameworks. An onsite assessment will be conducted after the workshops to complete training.

Are you a Youth worker, Early Childhood Educator or involved in protecting young people in other ways? The Statement of Attainment in Identify and Respond to Children/Young People at Risk (CHCPRT001) course will support you in developing the skills and knowledge required to support and protect children and young people who are at risk of harm. This work occurs within legislative and policy frameworks and carries a duty of care responsibility.

This unit applies to workers in a range of job roles providing services to children and young people including in community services and health contexts.

The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice.

Qualification in this area is a mandatory requirement for people with children and young people. Learners will be required to complete a period of work placement hours in a related community service and health context as skills must be demonstrated in the workplace.

You don't need to study what you already know! The skills, knowledge and experience you have gained from your previous learning, work experience and life in general may be taken into account.

To apply for recognition in one or more units you must clearly show that you have the equivalent and relevant skills, knowledge and experience of the unit or group of units.

For Credit transfer where you have completed previous studies either with TAFE NSW or with another tertiary provider complete the Enrolment Adjustment - Credit - Previous Studies form, and include any required evidence.

For Recognition of Prior Learning, attach your evidence to a completed Enrolment Adjustment – Credit – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form and submit for assessment.
