The course is based on the nationally endorsed Property Services Training
Package (CPP07) Diploma qualification covering the Real Estate industry sector,
and is for people who want to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to operate
and manage a real estate/property agency business. You will learn about selling,
marketing, leasing and managing property, and managing the physical, human and
financial resources of a real estate agency.

You will also acquire the knowledge and skills that underpin the fundamental
concepts relating to property and business law, urban and regional planning
considerations, business/organisational risk management, appraising property
including building concepts and requirements.

You will also learn and acquire the competencies applicable to client, financial
and human resource management of a small business enterprise.

The knowledge and skills that underpin the competencies you will acquire may be
applicable across a range of residential, commercial and industrial property

This is an online course. You will need to complete approximately 4 hours of online study, each week, for your enrolment duration of 6 months.
You can increase the hours of online study per week to complete the course sooner.

You can also expect to complete approximately 3 hours of additional study each week outside of online study hours including, independent study, research online, practice, assignments and case studies.

  • Successfully completed the Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate)


To be prepared for this course, it is recommended that you:

  • Are working as a licensed agent (Class 2 Licence Agent)
  • Are personable
  • Have good communication skills
  • Are highly organised
  • Want to become a licensee in charge of a real estate agency

Real estate agents require a licence to operate in NSW. There are several types of licences and certificates of registration that can be issued under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002.

You will be eligible to apply for a NSW Property Services Class 1 Licence (Licensee in Charge) when you have:

  • Successfully completed this course, and
  • Worked in the industry for 24 months

Are there any additional entry requirements?

A number of courses may require prospective students to provide additional information such as documentation, an expression of interest, evidence that you are already employed as an apprentice, or preferred prior study (or equivalent).

You are required to provide evidence prior to enrolment of:

  • having completed a Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) and will need to supply a certified copy of the transcript

To be able to successfully complete this course, you will need:

  • access to a reliable computer and Internet, email address and printer/scanner

You don't need to study what you already know! The skills, knowledge and experience you have gained from your previous learning, work experience and life in general may be taken into account.

To apply for recognition in one or more units you must clearly show that you have the equivalent and relevant skills, knowledge and experience of the unit or group of units.

For Credit transfer where you have completed previous studies either with TAFE NSW or with another tertiary provider complete the Enrolment Adjustment - Credit - Previous Studies form, and include any required evidence.

For Recognition of Prior Learning, attach your evidence to a completed Enrolment Adjustment – Credit – Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) form and submit for assessment.
