The Skills for Business initiative of the NSW Small Business Strategy aims to extend the availability of education and training services to small businesses across New South Wales so they develop the skills they need to grow their business and increase their workforce. A significant part of this Small Business Strategy is the Statement of Attainment in Skills for Business. This course consists of 24 elective units with various clusters of units designed to meet the specific needs of individual small business students.

TAFE NSW provides these part qualifications training to enable learners who are owners of small to medium enterprises (SMEs) to develop digital and financial literacy skills. Learners can undertake training in a single unit of competency, or a selection of units, from both digital and financial literacy streams. Combinations of units can be packaged and tailored to the learner’s individual training requirements.
