Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) is a key priority for the Australian Government in recognition that ECEC programs play a vital role in the development of Australian children and their preparation for school, and enabling parents to work.
The ECEC sector is critically short of appropriately qualified staff and is projected to remain a growth area into the future. As with all of our Community Services & Health Courses, we are dedicated to equipping you with the necessary skills, experience and knowledge so that you'll feel confident entering the workforce.
Child care and early childhood education hold a key place in the wellbeing of families and their local communities. They provide key opportunities for children's development and social engagement, and for enabling families to engage fully in the labour market, each of which is important in contributing to stronger families.
Certificate III is the minimum qualification required of those working in the ECEC sector, though you can be employed in the sector as “working towards” if you are enrolled in the course.
