Please note that there are additional requirements/conditions from the certifying Maritime Authority that you must satisfy in order for you to gain a Maritime Certificate of Competency. Additional requirements /conditions may relate to sea time, age, eyesight colour vision and health [it is important to have good colour vision, you can check colour vision here and also here]. Check with the Maritime Authority in your state for specific certification requirements. For NSW see NSW Maritime. Diploma students would need to contact AMSA.
