Our Confidentiality Policy

TAFE Digital Counsellors follow the Code of Ethical Conduct as set out by the Psychology Board of Australia and the Australian Psychological Society.

Information about clients who seek counselling, the nature of the service provided and the content of the Counselling sessions will not be disclosed without the consent of the client. All information collected in respect of the Counselling sessions will be held securely and subject to legislative provisions under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and the Department of Education and Training’s Privacy Code of Practice.

Exceptions occur only in the following circumstances:

  • When the Counsellor judges that not to disclose information would result in danger to the client or to others.
  • Where reporting of information is required by law.
  • Where client files are subpoenaed by a court of law.
