- Information for Students
If you live in NSW you require a TAFEcard. It provides access to services in TAFE NSW colleges only. You do not need a TAFEcard if you live outside of NSW.
A TAFEcard is an identification and store value card. It shows your name, student reference number and photograph and is your TAFE NSW Library borrowing card. You must carry your TAFEcard at all times when on TAFE NSW college premises and you will need to show it as identification to sit tests and final exams, and register with the library.
Your TAFEcard is valid as long as you are enrolled with TAFE NSW - you do not need a new one each year. It costs $20 to replace – so please treat it with care. TAFEcard Terms and Conditions
How do I get my first TAFEcard?
Take a copy of your Confirmation of Enrolment to your local TAFE NSW college.
Contact the college before leaving home as they may have fixed times for taking TAFEcard photos. You may be given your TAFEcard that day, but processing times could vary between colleges.
If you are unable to get your TAFEcard from your local college, OTEN can provide one to you.
